An exhibition based on Ingeborg Bachmanns \u00bbTODESARTEN-Projekt\u00ab<\/span><\/p>\n

In her unfinished \u00bbTODESARTEN-Projekt\u00ab<\/span>, Ingeborg Bachmann definitively describes the ways in which fascism, colonialism and misogyny have penetrated social DNA as thought structures. The exhibition at Haus R\u00fcschhaus boldly confronts these forms of violence by showcasing positions from the visual arts and literature that take a stand against them. While we still cannot speak of an end to these structures of violence, we can be sure that resistance to them is not dying out. <\/span><\/strong><\/span>(Text by Center for Literature\/Translation: deepl)<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Ein Tag wird kommen<\/em>, eine Stimme, tief, aus dem Innern eines K\u00f6rpers oder eines Grabes, deines K\u00f6rpers oder deines Grabes, d\u00fcnn wird sie sein, hinauf- oder hinaussteigen wird sie, die Zeit wird keine Rolle spielen, ein Stimmschweben vielleicht (an Seesterne<\/em> denke ich, wie sie schwimmen, wie sie schweben), formen wird sie sich, in meinem oder deinem Hirn, ein Damals-Gestirn, und weiter zu Dahlien sich verwachsen, schwarz und d\u00fcnn, nahezu unsichtbar (so sicher ist das schlie\u00dflich alles nicht, oder?) und: soll es nicht hei\u00dfen, die Andere in dir?<\/em>,<\/span><\/p>\n

und ja, das ist eine Frage, wenn auch vage, du aber streckst deinen Fu\u00df leicht nach vorn, hebst ihn an, in einen Ton, ins Nichts, in Vergangenheit auch, eine Frau ist zu erschaffen<\/em>, steht da irgendwo geschrieben, von Mord aber ist zu lesen, damals, die 40er, schon beim ersten Gurgeln von Worten und S\u00e4tzen<\/em>, weiter den Tag besetzen, auch sp\u00e4ter, auch jetzt, keine \u00c4nderung in Sicht, stattdessen: Buchstaben reihen, das Alphabet beleihen, dein Mund aber geschlossen, verschlossen, da ist nichts zu machen,<\/span><\/p>\n

ein Tag wird kommen<\/em>, jetzt aber immer jemand, der etwas \u00fcber dich legt, um dich zieht, als k\u00f6nnte man dich schn\u00fcren wie ein Paket, ein Band, eine Schleife, borrowed light<\/em>, ganz tight<\/em>, wie es eindringt aus der Fassung einer Geschichte, deiner Geschichte, du, Shaker Girl<\/em>, gezogen, erzogen, \u00fcberzogen, von drag <\/em>zu trag!, ein Tragen, Betragen, Vertragen, wie viel?, und ja, auch das ist eine Frage, Shaker Girl<\/em> oder Elizabeth Short, ganz kurz nur, short<\/em>, so sicher ist das alles nicht, soll es nicht hei\u00dfen, die Andere in dir?<\/em>, und weiter, immer weiter, ein Fu\u00df nach dem andern, im geheimen wird wieder entworfen, was eine Frau ist<\/em>, und sieh, ja du! im Anschein einer Tracht, Jahrhunderte verbracht,<\/span><\/p>\n

ein Tag wird kommen<\/em>, ein Anziehen und Ausziehen, aus dir, aus dem K\u00f6rper, H\u00e4nde, die sich dir n\u00e4hern, sich auf dich legen, sich entfernen, ein Hin und Her, Shaker Girl<\/em>, ein Zofen-Effekt, auch davon ist die Rede, und deine Schuhe, wie sie da stehen, kurz vorm Ausschreiten, Hinausschreiten, vorm Aufbrechen, und ja, das ist keine Frage,<\/span><\/p>\n

A day will come, <\/em>a voice, deep, from within a body or a grave, your body or your grave, it will be thin, it will climb up or out, time not a factor, a voice afloat perhaps (it\u2019s starfish I\u2019m thinking of, how they swim, how they float), it will form itself, in my brain or yours, a once-was brain, and on it will grow, into dahlias, thin and black, almost invisible, (it\u2019s all not so certain after all, is it?) and should it not say, the other in you?<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em>and yes, that\u2019s a question, if not vague, but you stretch your leg out slightly forwards, raise it slightly, into a sound, into nothingness, the past too, a woman is to be made<\/em>, that\u2019s what it says there, written somewhere, but it\u2019s murder that can be read, back then, in the 40s, even with the first gurgle of words and sentences<\/em>, keep filling the day, later too, and now as well, no change in sight, instead: line up the letters, loans on the alphabet, your mouth however closed, lets nobody know, there\u2019s nothing can be done here,<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em>a day will come, <\/em>but now always someone, something laid over you, wrapped around you, as if you could be tied up like a package, a ribbon, a bow, borrowed light<\/em>, right tight<\/em>, burst in from the version of a story, your story, you, Shaker Girl, <\/em>dragged, dragged up, dragged out, and from drag to traj! A trail, betrayal, entails, how much? and yeah, that too\u2019s a question, Shaker Girl<\/em> or Elizabeth, not long, short,<\/em> it\u2019s all not so certain after all, should it not say, the other in you? <\/em>and on and on, one foot after another, on the inside it\u2019s redefined, what a woman is<\/em>, and look here, yes you! looking like a costume, the centuries spent,<\/span><\/p>\n

a day will come<\/em>, a dressing and an undressing, from you, from the body, hands, that approach you, lay upon you, remove themselves, a toing and froing, Shaker Girl, a toing and froing, a maid-effect, made them talk, and your shoes, standing there, about to step out, step out into, about to break out, and yeah, that\u2019s not a question,<\/span><\/p>\n

this day will come.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n
